Swiggy’s will soon test drone delivery over the middle-mile


Swiggy is reportedly looking into drone delivery to solve logistical problems involving product transit from warehouses and mid-city fulfilment centers.

Dale Vaz, Swiggy’s chief tech officer (CTO), told reporters at the CTOtalk Summit in Chennai that Swiggy is already in touch with authorities and working closely with drone manufacturers to conduct the pilot.

 We want to collaborate with startups and software companies that offer drone-as a service. There are regulations that you should also consider. 

According to EconomicTimes, Vaz stated that the government had approved the flight corridors. According to the report Swiggy will likely use drones to deliver’middle mile’ goods from Gurugram or Bengaluru’s warehouses in the soon-to be-conducted pilot.
