Lighthouse names CEO; Mariners hire Accolade director


HTML1Ron Markezichwill succeed Brian McManusas CEO of Lighthouse, a Seattle-based company. Lighthouse Lighthouse offers electronic discovery tools and other services to compliance and legal teams.

Markezich previously worked at Microsoft in various roles, including corporate vice president for the global commercial licensing and pricing. He has been a part of the Lighthouse’s board of directors since the year 2019.

McManus was the head of Lighthouse over 11 years at Lighthouse, directing the company’s expansion from 500 to 1,000 employees as well as the 40-fold increase in revenue McManus said in an LinkedIn posting. McManus will remain the Executive Vice Chair.

Eight years after Seattle’s Vera Whole Health combined with San Francisco digital healthcare company Castlight Health, the venture has an entirely new CEO, the former Cerner Corporation president Donald Trigg. The company that was merged will also have a fresh name: Apree Health.

Trigg previously served as chief revenue officer at the digital health company CodeRyte which was purchased by 3M as well as Director of the Office of Policy in the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Vera was established in the year 2008 by the founder of HTML1Ryan Schmid who up was until recently its CEO . He is now the president of Apree Health. The whereabouts of Apree’s headquarters are currently unavailable, according to an official spokesperson.

Other important staff moves in the Pacific Northwest tech industry:

  • The Seattle Mariners hired their first senior vice president of business strategy and analytics, Chris Kennedy, previously senior director of government solutions at health company Accolade, and a manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
  • Educational company eSpark Learninghired Eric Dahlberg as its CEO. Dahlberg is based within Seattle, is based in the Seattle regional area was the former the president of remote K-12 digital curriculum firm MobyMax and chief revenue officer for legal market Avvo, and held various positions in Microsoft.
  • Reforestation company DroneSeed was hired by Woolsey McKernon who was an executive for Bayview Asset Management, as director of capital markets and corporate development and Jonathan Loevner, former director at New Forests, as vice director for carbon market.
  • The startup software for managing expenses Center has hired Samantha Bergin as chief marketing officer. She was previously employed in the same position at Seattle health firm 98point6.
  • The Seattle-based Perkins Coiehired the former Federal judge Abdul Kannon as a partner in Seattle which is which is where its headquarters are located.
  • Pearl Leung who is the director of community engagement within Bellevue, Wash., for Amazon has joined in the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce’s new board of directors..
  • Vancouver, Wash.-based construction labor marketplace Toolbelt appointed Mark Rainesas chief operating officer. Raines has previously worked for EagleView which is a Bellevue, Wash.-based geospatial software that provides aerial imagery as well as analytics firm.
  • Saman Zarandioonis currently engineer director at the startup for health data Truveta which is where he previously served as the principal engineer for AI/machine Learning. Prior to making the move to Truveta, Zarandioon was a senior software engineer at Amazon
