Guwahati-based Zerund raises Rs 7.8 Cr in seed round

Zerund, an Guwahati-based producer of durable bricks, has gotten the seed capital of Rs 7.8 millions from a consortium of private investors that is that are led by Dreamweaver Investments. The venture was funded through the Gruhas ASPIRE accelerator program, which is a partnership between Gruhas Proptech Fund as well as the DLF Family Office as well as Anthill Ventures.

In a celebration that was held on Wednesday, on Wednesday at the NEDFi (North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Ltd) Convention Centre in Guwahati, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Gruhas Proptech Fund promoters Abhijeet Pai of and the Puzzolana group, Nikhil Kamath, Co-founder of Zerodha along with Rahul Talwar who is Director of DLF Family Office gave honor to the Gruhas ASPIRE cohort.

Zerund was founded in the year 2018 in 2018 by Assam Engineering College civil engineering colleagues David GogoiMousum Talukdar along with Rupam Choudhury, operates brick production located in Guwahati in Guwahati and Pathsala.

The company makes premium lightweight bricks from 70% of the waste materials which includes fly ash and plastic. Fly ash is sourced at the Kokrajhar plant of the National Thermal Plant Corporation (NTPC). The additional funds can be used to boost the manufacturing capacity of the company that is currently over 25 lakh bricks. It will also be used being used to expand distribution and sales channels over Assam and into the other Indian states over the next months.
